Events Manager/Executive

Singapore Squash is the National Sports Association for the sport of squash in Singapore. We are seeking an energetic, driven and passionate individual to join our multi-cultural and vibrant team as an Events Executive.

About the Role

The Events Executive plays a key role in supporting the successful planning, coordination, and execution of Singapore Squash’s tournaments, programmes, and events. This position is integral to ensuring operational excellence and supporting the SSRA Board in advancing the sport locally and internationally.

You will be involved in both the strategic planning and ground execution of events, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys being both the “brains and brawn” behind successful sporting experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Operations

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of Singapore Squash’s annual local tournament and events calendar
  • Coordinate all operational aspects of tournaments and events to ensure smooth delivery
  • Manage tournament administration using platforms such as Tournament Software/Planner and SportyHQ, including Seeding, Draws, Scheduling and Competition management

Marketing & Communications

  • Develop and execute marketing initiatives and social media campaigns for tournaments and events
  • Create engaging promotional content to drive participation and audience engagement
  • Support event publicity and communications efforts across relevant platforms

Stakeholder & Volunteer Management

  • Coordinate and manage event volunteers, including National Training Programme athletes
  • Source and liaise with referees and officials for tournaments as required
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with Associate Clubs, International Federations, Athletes, Vendors, Event partners and stakeholders

Financial & Administrative Support

  • Prepare and monitor event budgets and expenditures
  • Ensure procurement processes comply with SSRA procurement guidelines
  • Coordinate timely processing of payments, revenues, claims, and reconciliations with the Finance Manager
  • Prepare post-event reports, including operational reviews and performance metrics

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide support for other SSRA programmes and initiatives as required
  • Undertake additional duties commensurate with the level of the role

What We're Looking For

Requirements

  • Strong and active interest in sports is essential
  • Interest or experience in squash will be an advantage
  • Minimum ITE or Diploma qualification, preferably in Sports Management/ Business Administration/ Marketing/ Communications/ Physical Education/ or related disciplines
  • Fresh graduates with athlete backgrounds or strong sporting interest are encouraged to apply
  • Candidates with at least 1 year of relevant sports or event management experience will have an advantage

Skills & Attributes

  • Tech-savvy and willing to learn event management software platforms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Canva, Adobe, or other design tools is a plus
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Excellent organisational and project management abilities
  • Creative, resourceful, and able to think independently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment
  • Willing to work evenings and weekends during event periods when required
  • Ability to start immediately, including on a part-time basis, will be an advantage

Remuneration

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
