Singapore Squash Rackets Association (SSRA) is the National Sports Association (NSA) for the sport of Squash in Singapore. We are governed by Sport Singapore (SportSG) and is a member of the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC), South East Asian Squash Federation (SEASF), Asian Squash Federation (ASF) and World Squash Federation (WSF).

SSRA was formed in 1970 and we are an Institute of Public Character (IPC) charity organisation. SSRA aims to promote, support and advance the sport of Squash in Singapore through our core values of Integrity, Teamwork and Diversity

Programme Manager – Community Outreach

In line with our mission to promote, support and advance the Squash in Singapore, SSRA runs community outreach initiatives in concert with Sport Singapore’s Vision 2030 – Live Better Through Sport. With Squash set to make its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 edition, SSRA is looking to further our initiatives to widen the reach of our sport to further strengthen our Pathway Development programme.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful Programme Manager to develop, manage, and oversee our Community Outreach and related programmes. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and proven ability to strategize and implement effective programme initiatives to grow our sport.  

Objectives of Role

  • Manage and grow the MARIGOLD Tryout and Follow-Up Programmes as part of our Pathway Development programme.
  • Conceptualise, plan, strategize and execute squash outreach programmes, with the primary aim to extend the reach of squash to a diverse community, in concert with the objectives of SSRA, Sport Singapore and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY).
  • Oversee multiple initiatives and projects to ensure programme goals are achieved.
  • Be a key personnel in pitching for programme partnership and sponsorship with external parties.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with programme partners/sponsors, cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver the scope, deliverables, resources, work plan, budget and timeline of initiatives..
  • Champion the programmes to extend reach of squash in the Ministry of Education’s  National School Games (NSG) and Co-Curricular Activities (CCA).
  • Prepare proposal and project documentation required for funding of initiatives and projects, as required.
  • Develop and manage budgets for the initiatives and projects and be accountable for delivering against programme goals.
  • Plan and run social media campaigns relevant to the programmes and events.
  • Manage all communications and feedback to and from stakeholders.
  • Review programme initiatives and projects to ensure relevance and effectiveness, and when required, produce reports to support findings.
  • Participate and support all SSRA organised events, working closely alongside the Events and High Performance teams.
  • Support the national-level Events and Programmes, when required.

If you are a sports fan, you will be at the Sports Hub and amongst many Singapore’s top athletes who train in the same venue.

Due to the nature of the work and industry, there will be work on certain weekends and evenings. There needs to be some flexibility in working hours and where applicable, individuals will be compensated with time off in-lieu.

Skills, Qualifications and Personal Traits

  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Business Management or related discipline. Diploma holders with experience are welcome to apply.
  • Preferred two years of relevant experience in the sports, wellness or education industry. Experience working within National Sports Associations or trade/social organisations will be an advantage.
  • Conversant with social media platforms, with an interest for keeping abreast of related trends.
  • Advanced level in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) to be able to produce reports and presentations; desktop publishing will be an added advantage.
  • Thinks outside the box, but realistic and rational on possibilities.
  • Possess resourcefulness and acute analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Meticulous, and understands the importance of excellent organisation skills.
  • Generally pleasant character who enjoys communicating and working with people.
  • Must enjoy a strong and active interest in sports and wellness.
