SINGAPORE: Last held in 2022, Squash Ball 2025 was held once again at Shangri-La Hotel’s Island Ballroom on 21 November. The fundraising dinner saw donors and friends of the squash community contribute towards Squash For All (SFA), an initiative to introduce squash in Singapore by making the sport accessible and affordable to all. The event was graced by Speaker of Parliament Mr Seah Kian Peng and attended by over 300 guests from the squash fraternity in Singapore.

Through the support and generosity of our donors, Singapore Squash achieved the fundraising goal of $250,000. This fundraiser was held as part of the Tote Board’s Enhanced Fundraising Programme, whereby every dollar raised will be matched, effectively doubling the funds raised for a maximum of $500,000. Thus, by successfully raising $250,000 and above through the Ball, the maximum possible grant of $500,000 was achieved. The funds will support SFA until 2028, during which Singapore Squash aims to introduce squash to over 7000 children through accessible and affordable programmes such as the Try-Out and Follow Up Programme. Along the way, should talented youth from less privileged backgrounds be identified, the funds raised will also go towards support them towards becoming a part of the national team.

The event was also highlighted the past and ongoing SFA efforts to promote the sport in Singapore. Asian Squash Federation Development Coach of the Year 2024 Koh Yoke Keet was acknowledged for her contributions towards promoting squash to the younger generation through SFA since 2023. Through a poll of parents who have been a part of the Follow Up Programme since its inception, SFA coaches Lim Lian Swa and Lawrence Tan were also awarded the runner-up and winner respectively of the inaugural SFA Most Popular Coach.  The evening also saw a Squash For All Dialogue held amongst key stakeholders in the programme to help shed light on the personal experiences of those involved in SFA.
